Introduction to BMW‘s Spring 2026 Line-Up
Munich. As we approach spring 2026, BMW is set to refresh its model range with significant updates, particularly in electric drive technology. The all-electric BMW iX1 and iX2 will benefit from new power electronics aimed at improving efficiency and extending their driving range. Additionally, the BMW 1 Series and 2 Series Gran Coupé will now feature 2-zone automatic air conditioning as standard, and all models will sport a redesigned BMW emblem on the bonnet.
Improved Range for BMW iX1 and iX2
The BMW iX1 eDrive20 now offers improved energy consumption figures at 16.1–16.0 kWh/100 km, with CO2 emissions at a commendable 0 g/km, placing it in CO2 class A. The xDrive30 variant will deliver similar benefits, with energy consumption rated at 17.2–17.1 kWh/100 km and the same zero emissions. Thanks to the introduction of silicon-carbide (SiC) semiconductor components in their power electronics, both models see their ranges increase by approximately 40 km, now reaching up to 514 km and 466 km respectively.
The BMW iX2 eDrive20 and xDrive30 will also adopt this technology, achieving energy consumption figures of 15.7–15.6 kWh/100 km and 16.7–16.5 kWh/100 km, respectively, with corresponding ranges of 512 km and 477 km.
BMW iX3: Faster Charging and New Colour Options
The BMW iX3 (iX3 50 xDrive) will offer a new Professional AC charging option, allowing for charging at up to 22 kW. This model can also serve as a mobile power bank, supplying external devices with up to 3.7 kW of power. Alongside this functionality, three new exterior colours—Eucalyptus Green metallic, BMW Individual Frozen Space Silver metallic, and Fire Red metallic—will be introduced in spring 2026. Inside, a new steering wheel option in Digital White will complement the BMW Contemporary Digital White Bicolour interior, while stainless steel loading sills will be included in several interior design packages.
BMW M5 and XM Label: Preparing for Euro 7 Standards
With new Euro 7 emissions regulations set to take effect in 2027, BMW M is proactively updating its high-performance models. The BMW M5 and XM Label will receive technical enhancements starting March and April 2026, respectively. The focus will be on optimising the M Hybrid system’s internal combustion engine through improved engine control, enhanced exhaust treatment, and the introduction of the Miller combustion process. The V8 engine output in the M5 will be adjusted from 430 kW (585 hp) to 400 kW (544 hp), while maintaining a combined system output of 535 kW (727 hp). This ensures continued high performance while meeting future environmental requirements.
The BMW XM Label will retain its output of 550 kW (748 hp) while benefiting from similar efficiency improvements.
Standard Features for BMW 1 Series and 2 Series Gran Coupé
From spring 2026, the BMW 1 Series and 2 Series Gran Coupé will come equipped with 2-zone automatic air conditioning as standard. Additionally, the BMW Individual Tanzanite Blue metallic exterior colour will be available alongside an optional black roof. The M Sport package-equipped BMW 1 Series and the M135 xDrive can also be ordered with the new Cape York Green metallic finish.
Sporty Enhancements for the BMW 4 Series
The BMW 4 Series Coupé, Convertible, and Gran Coupé will be available with optional M Carbon mirror caps when equipped with the M Sport package. Note that this upgrade does not extend to the BMW 4 Series M Performance models, which have dedicated mirror caps as part of their specific M Carbon package.
Tyre Repair Kit Plus: A Practical Addition
Starting in spring 2026, the Tyre Repair Kit Plus will be included as standard in various BMW models. This kit provides quick and reliable assistance in the event of a puncture, enhancing convenience for drivers. Models such as the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer plug-in hybrid, BMW 5 Series Sedan (dependent on wheel choice), BMW X3, BMW 7 Series, BMW 2 Series Gran Coupé, and BMW iX will feature this helpful addition.
New BMW Emblem Unveiled
Beginning February 2026, all BMW models will showcase a new emblem on their bonnets, coinciding with the transition to the updated M logo.
