The front end is redesigned around a larger, more expressive grille, framed by an illuminated chrome surround. The headlights feature a starry light signature and incorporate the latest Digital Light headlights, equipped with micro-LEDs that produce a beam that is 40% wider while reducing energy consumption by 50%.
At the rear, a decorative element visually connects the lights, accentuating the vehicle’s width. This facelift also brings new body colours and alloy wheels up to 22 inches, including specific designs for the AMG line.
Mercedes GLS (2026), a Limousine-Worthy Interior
The interior of the GLS remains a benchmark among luxury SUVs, offering an environment designed for maximum comfort. The standard seven-seat configuration allows all passengers to travel in optimal conditions, even those in the third row, which can accommodate individuals up to 1.94 m tall.

At the heart of this refined interior is the new MBUX Superscreen, a large glass panel integrating three 12.3-inch screens. Powered by the AI-based MB.OS operating system, it allows for over-the-air updates and offers a seamless user experience.

The progression in comfort is also evident with seats featuring a massage function and an Energizing Air Control system that filters and ionises the air. When more space is needed for luggage, the rear seats can be electrically folded down, achieving a maximum loading volume of 2,400 litres.

The new GLS offers a completely updated range of powertrains, all equipped with 48V mild hybridisation. This technology enables functions such as energy recovery and an electric boost, enhancing efficiency and smoothness of driving.

Dynamically, the GLS relies on the E-Active Body Control system, which analyses driving conditions up to a thousand times per second to individually adjust springs and dampers on each wheel. The Airmatic air suspensions now benefit from predictive tuning via cloud data and Car-to-X technology.
For off-road capabilities, the GLS offers dedicated functions such as the Free-Wheel mode to help extricate from sand, as well as individual wheel height adjustment via the MBUX system.
